What is BPH and what do supplements aim at?
BPH is non-cancerous growth of the prostate. It can cause a weak stream, urgency and waking at night to urinate.
It affects about 5-6% of men aged 40-64 and roughly 3 in 10 men 65 and older, and symptoms do not always match prostate size (NIDDK, Enlarged Prostate (BPH)). Supplements for BPH aim at those symptoms, not at the gland itself.

Can a supplement shrink an enlarged prostate?
No supplement has been shown to. Saw palmetto did not improve flow or prostate size in large reviews (Tacklind et al., Cochrane 2012).
Is 84.5 mg of saw palmetto enough for BPH?
