The list01
What is in Protoflow?
Protoflow holds 14 label lines: two vitamins, ten herbs, inosine and oat straw, packed in a gelatin capsule.
The capsules are a plant-heavy mix: two vitamins, ten herbs, inosine and oat straw. Every line has a printed amount per two-capsule serving (Protoflow bottle label).
Rice flour, gelatin, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, maltodextrin, soy protein concentrate and water make up the other ingredients. The sales page names only eight botanicals, with no amounts; we follow the panel. The full panel is on the supplement facts page.

By group02
How are the Protoflow ingredients grouped?
Five groups: vitamins, one prostate herb, libido tradition herbs, circulation herbs and two others.
Grouping the 14 lines shows what the formula leans on. Filter the list below by group. The libido tradition herbs (epimedium, damiana, muira puama, tribulus, catuaba) add up to 854.5 mg of the 1,619 mg. The one herb with a long prostate research record, saw palmetto, adds 84.5 mg.

Doses vs studies03
How do the Protoflow ingredient doses compare with research?
Where a studied dose exists, the label is usually below it. For most lines, none exists.
Saw palmetto is the best case. The CAMUS trial used 320 mg rising to 960 mg a day in 369 men and found no benefit over placebo (Barry et al., JAMA 2011 (CAMUS)). The label has 84.5 mg. Niacin is the other number worth a look. At 75 mg it is over the 35 mg a day upper limit for supplemental niacin (NIH ODS, Niacin). Ginkgo, hawthorn and inosine carry their own flags, covered in side effects.
| Label line | Per 2 capsules | Per capsule | Amount used in research | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vitamin E (as D-alpha tocopheryl succinate) | 13 mg (87% DV) | 6.5 mg | 15 mg a day meets adult needs; upper limit 1,000 mg a day from supplements (NIH ODS, Vitamin E) | A large trial of 400 IU a day found a higher prostate cancer risk |
| Niacin (Vitamin B3) | 75 mg (469% DV) | 37.5 mg | 16 mg a day meets adult needs; upper limit 35 mg a day from supplements and fortified food (NIH ODS, Niacin) | Not studied for prostate or urinary health |
| Hawthorn (Fruit) | 250 mg | 125 mg | No studied dose for the prostate found (MSK, Hawthorn) | Used for heart complaints; not studied for the prostate |
| Epimedium Sagittatum (Whole Plant) | 250 mg | 125 mg | No established dose; trials often mix it with other herbs (MSK, Epimedium) | Preclinical work; human data thin and safety not settled |
| Damiana (Leaf) | 200 mg | 100 mg | No established dose (MSK, Damiana) | Small studies of damiana mixes; mostly lab and animal work |
| Muira Puama (Root) | 200 mg | 100 mg | Not enough information to set a dose (RxList, Muira Puama) | Insufficient evidence for sexual problems |
| Ginkgo Biloba (Leaf) | 120 mg | 60 mg | Tested for dementia prevention in a 3,000-person trial; not for the prostate (NCCIH, Ginkgo) | No conclusive benefit for any condition |
| Chinese Ginseng (Root) | 120 mg | 60 mg | No study doses given in the source; evidence is limited and low quality (MSK, Ginseng (Asian)) | Any erectile-function benefit may be trivial |
| Tribulus (Fruit) | 120 mg | 60 mg | No established dose (MSK, Tribulus terrestris) | Evidence does not clearly support a testosterone-like action |
| Catuaba (Bark) | 84.5 mg | 42.25 mg | No established dose (RxList, Catuaba) | Insufficient evidence; mostly lab and animal work |
| Saw Palmetto (Fruit) | 84.5 mg | 42.25 mg | 320 mg a day of extract, rising to 960 mg a day in the CAMUS trial (NCCIH, Saw Palmetto) (Tacklind et al., Cochrane 2012) (Barry et al., JAMA 2011 (CAMUS)) | Reviews find little or no benefit for urinary symptoms of BPH |
| Inosine | 50 mg | 25 mg | One small trial gave up to 3 g a day for 46 weeks to ten people with MS (UofM Health (Healthwise), Inosine) | Little scientific support for any use |
| Oat Straw (Stalks) | 32 mg | 16 mg | EU herbal committee: traditional use only for mild stress and sleep (EMA, Oat herb (Avena sativa)) | Clinical evidence insufficient |
| Cayenne (Fruit) | 20 mg | 10 mg | No studied dose for the prostate (MSK, Cayenne) | Not studied for the prostate |

Other ingredients05
Is Protoflow vegan, gluten free or soy free?
No to vegan, no gluten-free statement, and soy is present. The capsule shell is gelatin and soy protein concentrate is listed.
The sales page calls it "Non-GMO, vegan and gluten-free". The label does not back that, and it lists rice flour, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide and maltodextrin beside a claim of "free of chemical coating". Gelatin is an animal product, and soy is one of the nine major allergens that must be named on food labels (FDA, Food Allergies). No non-GMO or gluten-free certificate is shown, and oat straw and maltodextrin are on the panel.
FAQ06
Protoflow ingredients questions
What are the active ingredients in Protoflow?
The label lists 14: vitamin E, niacin, hawthorn fruit, epimedium, damiana, muira puama, ginkgo, Chinese ginseng, tribulus, catuaba, saw palmetto, inosine, oat straw and cayenne. Each has a printed amount, from 250 mg down to 20 mg per serving (Protoflow bottle label).
Which Protoflow ingredient is in the largest amount?
Hawthorn fruit and epimedium whole plant tie at 250 mg per serving of two capsules. Damiana and muira puama follow at 200 mg each. The only prostate-research herb, saw palmetto, is far down the list at 84.5 mg.
Does Protoflow contain saw palmetto?
Yes, 84.5 mg of saw palmetto fruit per serving. The CAMUS trial used 320 to 960 mg a day and found no benefit over placebo, and a Cochrane review of 32 trials agreed (Barry et al., JAMA 2011 (CAMUS)) (Tacklind et al., Cochrane 2012).
What are the fillers in Protoflow capsules?
Rice flour, gelatin, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, maltodextrin, soy protein concentrate and water make up the other ingredients. Gelatin is the capsule shell.
Are the Protoflow herbs standardized extracts?
The label does not say. It lists plant parts such as fruit, leaf, root and bark, with no extract ratios, so doses cannot be matched to studies of standardized extracts.
Does Protoflow contain any hidden drugs?
We found nothing that suggests it, and the label lists no drug. FDA has found hidden sildenafil and tadalafil in some products sold for male performance, so a label alone cannot prove otherwise (FDA, Alpha-Male public notification).
