Protoflow Niacin: What 75 mg in a Serving Means
Protoflow niacin is 75 mg of vitamin B3 per 2-capsule serving, printed as 469% of the Daily Value. The upper limit for supplemental niacin is 35 mg a day for adults, so the label sits more than twice over it. The usual effect is a warm, red flush. The form of niacin is not printed.

The number01
Why is Protoflow niacin 469% of the Daily Value?
Because the Daily Value for niacin is 16 mg and the label holds 75 mg (Protoflow bottle label).
Divide 75 by 16 and you get 4.7, which the panel prints as 469%. The 16 mg figure is the adult RDA for men (NIH ODS, Niacin). It is an amount for food, not a target for pills.
Niacin and vitamin E are the only two lines with a Daily Value. The other 12 print "Daily Value not established."
The limit02
Is 75 mg of niacin too much?
It is over the 35 mg a day upper limit for supplemental niacin, which is a cap for people taking it without medical supervision (NIH ODS, Niacin).
The limit is set where flushing becomes likely. NIH says nicotinic acid at roughly 30 to 50 mg or more typically causes flushing, which is unpleasant rather than toxic (NIH ODS, Niacin).
| Measure | Amount a day |
|---|---|
| Adult RDA, men | 16 mg |
| Upper limit, supplements | 35 mg |
| Protoflow, 2 capsules | 75 mg |
75 mg is about 2.1 times the limit. That is not a toxic dose by the NIH account, but it is why a flush is a fair thing to expect.
What you may feel03
What does a niacin flush feel like?
Warmth, redness and itching in the face and chest, usually soon after the capsules.
NIH links high doses over months or years to liver harm, with extended-release forms carrying more risk (NIH ODS, Niacin). Which form it uses is not stated on the label. Ask a pharmacist before you start.
Taking capsules with water and food may feel gentler, but nothing on the label promises that. A flush that comes with dizziness, a racing heart or hives needs a call to a clinician.

FAQ05
Protoflow niacin questions
Does Protoflow use nicotinic acid or niacinamide?
The panel says only Niacin (Vitamin B3). Nicotinic acid causes flushing and nicotinamide does not, so the form decides what you feel (NIH ODS, Niacin).
Why is the vitamin E line only 87% but niacin 469%?
Vitamin E is 13 mg against a 15 mg RDA, so it is near the Daily Value. Niacin is 75 mg against 16 mg (NIH ODS, Vitamin E).
Can a niacin flush be a sign of an allergy?
A flush is a known effect of niacin and is not an allergy. Hives, swelling or trouble breathing are different and need urgent care.
Does the 35 mg limit apply to food?
The 35 mg limit is for niacin from supplements. Niacin in food is not counted toward it (NIH ODS, Niacin).
