The benefits of prostate supplements are mostly claims, not findings. Reviews of saw palmetto, the main ingredient, found little or no gain in urinary flow or symptom scores. Those are structure and function words. FDA does not pre-approve such claims, and the label must say it has not evaluated them (FDA, Structure/Function Claims). Seller wording is not a result.

Why do some men feel a benefit anyway?
Placebo response, new habits and the natural ups and downs of urinary symptoms.
In CAMUS the placebo group improved by nearly 3 points on the symptom index, more than the saw palmetto group (Barry et al., JAMA 2011 (CAMUS)). People expect a result, so they notice one.

Do prostate supplements improve sexual performance?
Evidence for tribulus is unclear (MSK, Tribulus terrestris), and epimedium needs studies to verify effects (MSK, Epimedium). ED has many causes (NIDDK, Erectile Dysfunction).
Is there a benefit to taking vitamin E for the prostate?
No. A large trial linked 400 IU a day to more prostate cancer (NIH ODS, Vitamin E).
How soon do the benefits of a prostate supplement appear?

Are the benefits larger for men with bigger prostates?
