Prostate Health Supplement Facts: How to Read the Panel Line by Line

Quick answer

Prostate health supplement facts live on the Supplement Facts panel, which US rules require to show serving size, servings per container and amounts per serving. On Protoflow the panel shows 2 capsules, 30 servings and 14 lines totaling 1,619 mg. Read the amounts, not the front claims.

The panel01

What do the prostate health supplement facts panel rules require?

A box titled Supplement Facts, with serving size, servings per container and amounts per serving.

The title must be the largest print on the label, and ingredients with no Daily Value get a symbol and the note Daily Value not established (21 CFR 101.36 (eCFR)). That note is not a flaw. It only means no official target exists.

The front of the bottle sits under looser rules. Its claims carry the FDA dagger because the agency has not evaluated them (FDA, Structure/Function Claims).

Five reads02

Which five lines should you read first?

Serving size, total, each amount, the Daily Value column and the other ingredients.

Do the math03

How do you check a panel amount against research?

Divide, then compare with the studied dose.

A worked example

Saw palmetto is 84.5 mg per serving. The CAMUS trial began at 320 mg a day (Barry et al., JAMA 2011 (CAMUS)). 84.5 divided by 320 is about 26 percent, and the trial still found no gain over placebo.

No study of the whole capsule exists, so a line-by-line check is the best a reader can do.

Limits04

What can a supplement panel not tell you?

Who made it, how it was tested and whether it works.

Protoflow names its distributor, PhytoThrive Labs, but no factory, lab report or GMP certificate (Protoflow bottle label). The lot code is a seller reference, not lab proof. The law does ask makers to test the identity of each ingredient (21 CFR Part 111 (eCFR)), but a panel never shows the results.

FAQ05

Panel questions

What does Daily Value not established mean on a panel?

It means no official daily target exists for that ingredient. Twelve Protoflow lines carry that note (21 CFR 101.36 (eCFR)).

Is 1,619 mg a lot for a two-capsule serving?

It is the sum of the lines, not a quality score. What counts is each herb's amount against its studied dose.

Why does the panel not list the form of niacin?

Protoflow prints only Niacin (Vitamin B3). Nicotinic acid, which causes flushing, is a separate form from nicotinamide (NIH ODS, Niacin).

Does the panel prove the capsule contains what it says?

No. It states the maker's claim. Law requires identity tests by makers (21 CFR Part 111 (eCFR)), but results are not printed.

Where do I find a lab report for my bottle?

None is published for Protoflow. The lot code PRO-26/MY-3220 is a seller reference, not lab proof.
